“They know what they are doing!”

 

The building is lovely to start with, then the experienced front of house make you feel like they know what they are doing straight away (and they do).

They coped easily with the 10 of us, many restaurants struggle to get quality food to the table when you have that many people eating together, but the staff at Canaletto served us with charm and the food was really very very good. The restaurant is spacious, spotless and the atmosphere spot on.

Fantastic place for a special party where you want really good food and wine with effortless service.

“Just amazing!!!!!”

Visited Canaletto for the first time on Friday evening following a recommendation and it did not disappoint. I understand they have not been open that long but the place was very busy and had a great atmosphere.

We had a drink in the bar before dinner which is very cosy with a lovely fireplace. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was friendly and efficient despite it being busy. For starters we had the Pâté (delicious and homemade) and the caprese salad which was fresh and beautifully presented. Mains included a perfectly roasted duck with orange sauce and a seabass which just flaked off with a fork as it should. The zucchini side is a must!

Overall, a wonderful evening and would definitely recommend you try it.

 

“Well worth a visit”

This newly refurbished restaurant is well worth a visit. Nine of us went for lunch and I must say the quality of the food and the variety from the set lunch menu was excellent. Made a pleasant change for a wide variety of delicious vegetables to be included in the price. You will not come away feeling hungry. A gem just a few minutes drive from where we live. Will most certainly use it again and will be back for an evening meal.

 

“Where do go to eat out when food is your business?”

Simple answer: Canaletto!!

Super unpretentious Italian food. A menu that is truly Italian: a few pasta dishes, not a pizza in sight- just beautifully cooked REAL Italian food.

The calamari starter was light and crisp and for Main- The Filet Mignon was a delightful dish with a rich and delicious sauce. We booked a table for my husbands birthday and were warmly welcomed. We took two children aged 9 & 11 and it was refreshing to see that the staff were very comfortable with them and that smaller portions from the adult menu were recommended. No chips, no chicken nuggets - so good to see! The children were made to feel very welcome and treated with a perfect balance of fun and respect!

Don't take our word for it: get down to Canaletto's and give it a try!

“Great Food, great atmosphere”

Thank goodness we have a decent Italian back in the local area. Superb quality of food in a really lovely dining space. We will look forward to making it a regular. Someone else mentioned the courgettes, I love the crespolini. This place comes with a gold star recommendation.

If you like excellent Italian food in pleasant surroundings, with friendly and efficient service, you need look no further. We went on the spur of the moment to try out Canaletto’s and really enjoyed ourselves. The menu was varied and imaginative, portions were good and the variety of vegetables were amazing.
